I enjoyed this simple devotional below from Chuck Swindoll and I hope you do too. Countenance is the look on our face that is an indication of our mood, emotion, or character. It is mentioned several times in the bible. This is an indication to me that we should be aware of ours, how it affects us...and those around us! Would you rather be in a relationship with (whether you're married to, dating, or friends with) someone that has a joyful countenance or a sour, pouty, complaining, or miserable countenance?
♥ I hope this post blesses your day. Much love, Torrie ♥

Sails Set Toward Joy
by Charles R. Swindoll
A joyful heart makes a cheerful
face.
~ Proverbs 15:13
I have discovered that a joyful
countenance has nothing to do with one's age or one's occupation (or lack of
it) or one's geography or education or marital status or good looks or
circumstances.
Joy is a choice.
It is a matter of attitude that stems from one's confidence in God—that He is
at work, that He is in full control, that He is in the midst of whatever has
happened, is happening, and will happen.
Either we fix our minds on that and determine to laugh again, or we wail and
whine our way through life, complaining that we never got a fair shake. We are
the ones who consciously determine which way we shall go.
Regardless how severely the winds of adversity may blow, we set our sails
toward joy.
"A joyful countenance has nothing to
do with your
circumstances. Joy is a choice."
~Chuck Swindoll
