Compassion vs. Indifference
Investing whatever is necessary to heal the hurts of others.
If we have all we need and see one of our own people in need,
we must have pity on that person,
or else we cannot say we love God.

Definition of compassion:
- Deep awareness of the suffering of another coupled with the wish to relieve it
- sympathetic consciousness of others' distress together with a desire to alleviate it
- pity
Scripture regarding compassion:
Matthew 9:36
Jesus
saw the many people and felt sorry for them because they were worried
and helpless—like sheep without a shepherd to lead them.
Colossians 3:12
Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience...
Matthew 7:12
So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

When he (Jesus) went ashore he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick.
