Alertness vs. Unawareness
Being aware of that which is taking place around me so that I can have the right responses.
Keep awake and watch and pray [constantly],
that you may not enter into temptation;
the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
~Mark 14:38
Definition of alertness:
- the process of paying close and continuous attention

Scripture regarding alertness:
1 Peter 5:8
Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
1 Peter 1:13
Be alert and think straight. Put all your hope in how kind God will be to you when Jesus Christ appears.
Matthew 24:44
Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
Galatians 5:19-21
The actions that are produced by selfish motives are obvious, since they include sexual immorality, moral corruption, doing whatever feels good, idolatry, drug use and casting spells, hate, fighting, obsession, losing your temper, competitive opposition, conflict, selfishness, group rivalry, jealousy, drunkenness, partying, and other things like that. I warn you as I have already warned you, that those who do these kinds of things won’t inherit God’s kingdom.
1 Thessalonians 5:6
Accordingly
then, let us not sleep, as the rest do, but let us keep wide awake
(alert, watchful, cautious, and on our guard) and let us be sober (calm,
collected, and circumspect).
Luke 21:34
Be careful not to spend your time having
parties and getting drunk or worrying about this life. If you do that,
you won’t be able to think straight, and the end might come when you are
not ready.
I hope your day is blessed, Torrie
